  1. Our Constitution

People have asked me if I believe the Constitution is a living and breathing document and if I will legislate from the Bench.

I believe in integrity of our Constitution the way it was written; I will not legislate from the Bench.

We also need to teach the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence in school- without a spin. Let’s bring out the original documents and read them.

My love of this country was planted and secured by the sacrifices of those who came before me. My great great grandfather, John Howland, came over on the Mayflower. For generations, my family has sacrificed their lives for freedom and for democracy. I will continue my family’s tradition of fighting for and protecting every thing that is right about the United States. I am proud to be an American and am grateful to God to have been born in the United States.

  2. Seeking Relief from our Court System

They have never been to an attorney before. They try to hide the kleenex or they put on a stoic front. They are at their worst. They are either facing divorce, the loss of a family member or a lawsuit that they think could destroy them personally or professionally. Fear and the grief have paralyzed them, usually both emotionally and financially. Their life is at a standstill. They want me to fix it- quick, so they can start breathing again.

But it’s not a black and white answer and usually not a quick fix. I try to tell them the truth -even if it’s not what they want to hear. They need to know what I can and can’t do for them. First things first, they need a support group- friends, family or a church family in order to deal with the legal process and the toll that I know it may take on them.

  3. The judge in the case strikes me as having the legal experience and human experience necessary for such a case. She seems to be tough but compassionate. She's patriotic. She seems to care for the individual. She's been through a lot herself.

  5. How long does it take for a summons to be delivered? How long does it take to post a press release on a web site stating that you have no comment due to not having received any paperwork? How long does it take to remove said press release from said web site after receiving said summons?
